Becoming a home builder is a huge undertaking that requires knowledge in many areas. Although some of these jobs may be completed by specialized subcontractors, it is important to have an understanding of all tasks necessary to complete a home build. Building a deck can involve an excessive amount of setup and clean up time. To reduce this time and increase efficiency Clock’d Out Construction is developing a Deck Tool Cart. This cart includes the following items:
- Dewalt Table Saw
- Dewalt Compound Miter Saw
- Craftsman Tool Chest
- Tough Built Saw Horses
THE BUILD
The cart is made of mild steel tubing sitting on 4 turf tire/wheel assemblies with standard trailer bearings. These trailer spindles fit well in 2in square tubing with .25in wall. It is designed to be loaded into the box of a pickup truck or trailer. On back of the cart is a 52in tool chest will more than enough storage for all hand tools and cordless tools. Next to the tool chest is the table saw with its table set to the same height of the tool chest to support material as it is fed through the saw. Over the wheel wells are drawers for fastener storage. On the front of the cart is a compound miter saw with a 2 piece removable cut table to support long deck boards while cutting. Slightly behind the miter saw is storage for 4 sawhorses.
